tick tock tick tock
It's all getting closer. 6 days of work left. Then 2 months of holiday before I'm back in Atlanta. In my house, with all my stuff - as if none of this adventure ever happened. Ha. Bloody likely.
How can these last 3 years not be part of my life forever?
I'm trying to remember this time 3 years ago, packing up the house in Atlanta and getting ready to jump into the void. I can't. This feels much harder, but I'm sure it's just as emotionally wearing as the reverse trip. This is only harder cause it's my current reality. And that reality is keeping me awake at night - unable to sleep because when I close my eyes and don't fall asleep immediately I break down. Which is okay, there's a lot to let go of here, but it makes it hard to fall asleep!!!
This Friday is my work farewell lunch, next Tuesday is my last day. The following Saturday is my farewell party. Then I go to NZ with Allie (btw Allie - I'll get stuff booked soon, don't worry!!). Then I go up to Darwin with Kate and spend 3 days on a safari in Kakadu. Then I come back to Canberra to leave on 25 July.
Whew. I honestly can't even imagine getting on that plane right now. So it's a good thing I'm not getting on the plane right now. Ha Ha. :)
Big pieces of my heart will never get off the ground on the 25th. They are going to stay right here.

Wow! I can't believe you are almost done. Anticipating is the hardest part of change. You just got to get through to the other side to appreciate your decision. Enjoy the rest of your time there and have a blast in NZ. We did! Here is a link to pictures from our trip to help get you excited:
