Flabbergastation

hmm... I'm pretty sure that's NOT a real word, but I'll add it to the Katie dictionary.

This flabbergasts me.

And this flabbergasts me.

The first because she's just so painful and if she gets into office I am seriously not returning.

The second because it's on such a ridiculously small scale as to literally blow my mind.

Curious what the second link was - it requires site registration.

Yeah, if they win I'm coming to live with you.

The second link was to a synopsis of a recent Science publication by Matthew-Fenn et al...

"Now Matthew-Fenn et al. (p. 446) have used small-angle X-ray scattering interference between gold nanocrystals attached to the ends of DNA double helices to measure directly the distance distributions of DNA fragments short enough to limit bending. The results show that stretching fluctuations are much larger than expected for an ideal elastic rod and that stretching is correlated over at least two turns of the double helix."
